Description

These short stories, although fictional, are based on people and events not far from reality. They range from the moral issue of slavery in the days of Jan van Riebeeck to the early days of ivory poaching, from the aggravations of a missionary in the remote hinterland to the successful trading of a peddler of trinkets. Some of the stories are interlinked, dealing with the experiences of a family of sheep farmers in the Karoo. Altogether,  the reader is treated with credible cameos from South African history.
